Icon size and screen layout in iOS 15.1 are poorly thought out

Why did some Apple genius decide to change the layout and size of icons in iOS 15.1?

In previous versions I selected 'large' icons and the display was 5 icons per horizontal line. Now, the layout with smaller 'large' icons is 6 icons per horizontal line. And, of course, the genius allows 'small' icons which are displayed a bit smaller but in the same '6 per line' positions as the 'large' icons.

I don’t know the reasoning behind this display change but I know for sure that I don’t like it.

Will Apple consider changing it back - or adding an option to have 'extra large' icons with a 5 per line layout?
