Drawing program - similar to MacDraw, Claris Draw, and Intaglio

My question is about Intaglio, a great 2D drawing program. The application was created by an associate of Purgatory Design who has retired or deceased. Those looking for a replacement have searched the internet and made suggestions for a replacement. I have tried many and for me they are not a replacement for Intaglio. Most were too complicated to draw a square or a line on the page. If anyone who has depended on MacDraw, Claris Draw, or Intaglio and is anticipating an M1 iMac and looking for a 2D drawing application and found such an application, please, post here.
