Apple TV Three Month Free trial

I just received the Apple TV three month free trial (with my new Mac) - do I still have to pay for movies? Im a little confused about their free trial while every movie still shows a buy or rental fee. I think Im missing the point of the membership.

The 3 months free tv+ subscription is only for Apple original content marked with tv +.

All other movies and tv-shows can be rented or buy as usual.
