MacBook Pro_addressbooksourcesync running endlessly, battery drains in under an hour, no syncing with iCloud and iPhone

On my MacBook Pro, addressbooksourcesync running endlessly, battery drains in under an hour, no syncing with iCloud and iPhone. Bee talking with Apple for 6 weeks. Endlessly restarting the same discussion over and over as they keep "misplacing" my case number. Have done everything they suggest - no change. I now have a direct line to an Apple supervisor who said that the next stop would be an Apple engineer. I'm sure that this is shortening the life of my computer as the internal fans is always running and the computer itself is very warm. The latest step has been to take the VPN from my work off the computer and next I am going to remove Sophos. I cannot believe that there are so few of us that this is happening to ... and that Apple has chosen to turn a blind eye to it. Any ideas/solutions are welcome.

Thanks.

Are there any AntiVirus, Disk Cleaner, Optimizers, Un-installers, etc installed which should be removed as per Developers Instructions. They are useless, unneeded, cause havoc and interfere with the normal operation of the OS and may even Corrupt the OS requiring a Reinstallation.

The The Built in Security  is all that is required.

There are no known Windows-like Viruses in the wild that self replicate and affect macOS, because of the underling UNIX  Foundation and Permission Limitation.

Commercial VPNs should only be used if Mandated by Corporate Head Office for working remotely. Otherwise - ones Privacy and Security touted by the VPN is suspect.
