TO UPGRADE MY IMAC IPHOTO TO PHOTOS. I have upgraded to Mac OS 12.0.1 Monterey

I need to upgrade my iPhoto to Photos because I upgraded to Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1 yesterday.

iMac 27″, macOS 12.0

The Photos.app comes preinstalled as a part of the system. You should already find it in the Dock. Look for this icon in the Dock or the folder Applications.


You just need to let Photos open your iPhoto Library and create a Photos Library from your library.


Launch Photos while holding down the options key ⌥. Release the key, when the library chooser dialog appears. Then select your iPhoto Library from the list and let Photos create a new library from it.

Do this for all your iPhoto Libraries. The new Photos Libraries will be created in the same folder as your iPhoto Library.


To switch between libraries quit Photos, then double click the library you want topen.
