USB to car stereo connectivity issues

Since the last update (15.1.1), my USB/lightning cable will not connect my iPhone to my car stereo. Did something change with the cable capabilities? Will I have to purchase a new(er) cable?

iOS 15.1.1 does not exist. newest version is 15.1. I would suggest trying a different cable.
