Can you use AirPods Pro without the ear tip?

Can you use AirPods Pro without the ear tip? It’s a present for my wife and she doesn’t like the rubber bits in her ears and looking for AirPods Pro as they have noise cancellation and 3 Rd Generation don’t. Any help would be much appreciated
