Nest app will NOT work on apple Tv

nest app will not accept my login on my Apple TV. The login information is absolutely correct. Nest and google merged a long time ago, so I am not sure if just new issue. Do I need to use a google app maybe? Someone asked same question in January, the answer was not relating to app issue, just login issue. Was no help. It is an app issue for sure. Do I need different app? Do I use my google password?
