Phone to Phone Transfer appears to not transfer all files?

For phone-to-phone transfers version iPhone IOS 15.1 does appear to move all settings, apps, and associated data files. Have performed complete iCloud AND iTunes encrypted back up BEFORE using the direct phone-to-phone transfer (or quick start) method in transferring data from iPhone 8+ to iPhone 13 Pro Max (both on IOS 15.1 before the transfer). "Most" of the apps, data, settings, transferred BUT several key apps and data did not. What procedures / options are available to make / recover these key apps available on the "new" iPhone?

It would help to know which.

For example sync'd music and photos, and iCloud photos will not transfer. Most apps will re-download fresh from App Store.

All third party apps come from the App Store and the data comes from the donor phone when using Quick Start, so I am surprised it is not listed yet is on the phone, but you may have found the reason.

Apologies for not including the app name previously. It’s the Nikon Manual Viewer 2 which, from my understanding, has been used by quite a few who use the brand as a handy way to have all the references available while in the field doing a job. It’s unfortunate that the version that exists on the source device cannot just transferred if the source is able to run it under the same IOS version. Having a message that the app needs to updated instead of just not executing would be much more “user friendly “ and provides user choice/ options.

Opinion: Transferred should transfer all not matter which method is used, iTunes, phone to phone, or iCloud. This appears not to be the case; while phone to phone maybe the closest it seems that it is not “faithfully complete “ either.

I can't locate that app. Try looking in your Purchased apps list in App Store.

None of the data transfer methods will transfer apps from any backup or source.

If you think that should be improved. and many may agree, then Feedback to Apple with a feature request.

But you should really lobby Nikon to keep their apps alive and updated for ios15

Specifically, there were apps which transferred however the documents/ manuals appears to not have done so. Both originals (app and documents) remains fully functional on source phone. The app no longer is listed in the Apple Store. Both devices were on the same IOS down to the x.1 level.
