My 2021 Macbook Pro M1 Pro started shutting down with 8-10% battery life left this week, after about 2 months of owning it. Prior to this, it only shutdown with 1% or less battery life left.
How do I resolve this issue?
that does not solve my problem, I want my MacBook Pro to shutdown at 1%, I don't want it to randomly shut down at 8% or 10% ...etc...
I need full battery life. My MacBook Pro should not shut down and refuse to start when there is 8-10% ... let alone 2% battery life left. 8 - 10% could be an 1-2 hours of usage.
The gauge should correspond to the value of battery left before it needs to shut down.

I resolved this by charging it, then kept using it while 100% & still plugged in for a few hours.
That recalibrated it, now the battery gauge is accurate and it only shuts down if I accidentally let it hit 0%. (I usually start charging at about 5% )

It is not a advise to run the battery down all the way 1% or less is nearly nothing.
The Battery Health Management may be stepping in to help save your battery from premature deterioration.

The rule of thumb is if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability the run on battery only.

Apple advises NOT LETTING the MBP run dead. My 2019 MBP has never seen less than 40%. To speak in terms of "I let it run down to 1% many times" ... it is astonishing that you think it is any way wise.
As to "37% is maybe really 5%" ... when a battery has been abused long and hard enough, it can give incorrect health readings.

Am also having same problem but worst mine shut down with 37 % battery left.
If an MBP was allowed to die completely enough times, 37% battery indicated might be 5%-10% (or less) in reality.
can you speak in a lame man term .....am not a tech guru ...And why is apple not helping with this issue?
