I have a problem with my personal hotspot. On Windows is much easier. There isn't a time limit to using a hotspot. On MAC is different. A hotspot is disconnecting after every 5 or 10 minutes. I would like to use it without a time limit. At least 1 hour.
The hotspot should disconnect if there is no connected device. I have unlimited internet on my cellular phone but if the hotpot is constantly disconnecting it is useless.

Try turning off Auto-Lock on your iPhone or iPad.
Setting Auto lock to "Never", can have the effect of keeping the hotspot active.
I have no idea which iPhones or iPads have this feature.

I have never had this issue, and never seen the issue reported here in the Support Communities.
Something is not right..
Verify both Bluetooth and WiFi are turned on even using the cellular hotspot...

the user Diagnostic...not as definitive as Apple's own AST2 (Apple Service Toolkit) back bench diagnostic, but may kick out an error code.

Why not send your thoughts to Apple? Feedback is one way to let Apple know what users feel is important.
Thank you for your fast reply. This means that I have always to turn on the display to have an active hotspot. This drains the battery fast.
I hope that Apple is going to change settings and enable active hotspot even display is turned off.

There is something not right here.
I use a hotspot for all my internet connection with unlimited data. Occasionally it might drop, but there is no set time period like you are implicating.
I never had to set "auto-lock" for full functionality....
You do not say what exact Mac...?
what exact macOS...?
what iPhone...?
what iOS...?
who is your ISP...?

Does your cell provider support hotspot as part of your paid package...(?) Not all providers do.
Have you searches Support /help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility...(?)
