iCloud+ subscription payment problem

On 12/12, on my iPhone 6s, I received a message in Settings that states there was a problem with my iCloud+ subscription payment. It states I should update my payment details to keep my storage plan. I have not changed my card, it hasn't expired, and I have money available. Is this real, or a scam? I want to continue my subscription, but I am unsure about it. Help!

If it's inside the Settings app, then it's real. There's no way a 3rd party could issue a message directly in the Settings App. Only Apple can do that.

Verify your payment method associated with your Apple ID and make sure its still verified and can be charged.
