Notes screen blank

I can see my notes when I first click on the app, but when I try to open any of them I get a blank screen as if there is nothing typed in. It doesn't always happen, but it does daily in inopportune times. What can I do to fix it? I've already gone into settings and made sure "notes" is on.

Hello SHSG713,

Apple Support Communities is a wonderful place for help with the Notes application on your iPhone XS. It sounds as though your notes appear in the app, but the body of the note doesn’t load as expected. To help isolate the issue, let’s make sure you have enough available storage on your iPhone. You can find the steps for viewing, and managing storage in the following article.

How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you have enough available storage on your iPhone, try closing and reopening the Notes app. If you need to reference the steps for closing an application they can be found in the article below.

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

If closing the app doesn’t resolve the issue, restarting the iPhone as outlined in the below article may help with reaching a resolution.

Restart your iPhone

In addition to restarting the iPhone, confirming that you’re running the latest iOS an important step. For reference, the steps for updating are linked below.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know how that goes, and if you’re able to view the notes via the iCloud website, or via the Notes app on another device.

We look forward to your response.
