WindowServer High Memory Usage Out Of Control

I have a 16" 2020 Macbook Pro i9 32GB that I keep running out of memory on.

This is more than having a much of Chrome Tabs open. I tried turning the scaled display off... and the memory increased. I'm really getting tired of stopping all my apps to restart and fix this issue! Help.

Running out of memory I have a 2020 MacBook Air, 1.2GHz, 8GB of RAM. Among many problems, I am constantly being alerted by CleanMyMac that I'm running out of memory. I know things run in the background, but at the moment I have 2 tabs open in Firefox (including this one) and no other programs running in the foreground and my available memory is about 170MB. I have run through a list of the suggested Firefox suggestions to reduce memory usage, and I have restarted my laptop and cleared cache. Any suggestions (apart from switching back to Safari - please)? If needed, I can specify more info from the Activity Monitor, or otherwise. Thanks in advance!

MacBook Pro maxing out of app memory at 500mb even tho I have 8gb memory and 200gb of empty storage This is so infuriating. My work bougbt me a brand new MBP 13 inch, M2, 2022, running Monterey. i will have *only* chrome and finder running, and I get the message that my system as run out of application memory. I have no choice but to force quit chrome. The worst part is that it tells me how much application memory is being used — the last time there was about 500*mb* being used between finder and chrome, and I have 8*gb* of memory plus 200gb of free storage on the MPB. why is this happening?! I should be able to run 20-30 chrome tabs across four chrome windows simultaneously on a brand new MBP with EIGHT gb of memory. also the info at the bottom of the post is wrong — it’s not running 10.12. That’s the wrong machine

Run out of application memory when I shouldnt? My macbook air keeps saying I have run out of application memory when I definitely havent, as the ram should be 8gb and these definitely dont add up to 8gb??
