Frozen iphone

My iphone is frozen and only shows an apple. I have an iphone x. I tried to reboot by pressing volup, voldown and holding the power button until it seemed to restart. This did restart it, but only back to the frozen apple screen. There seems to be some software's that say I can purchase to help fix...any ideas how to get back to normal.
