Waking a MacMini

I love my MacMini, but one annoying this it does.

Tap the mouse once, the Mac leaves sleep , mode, the external disk, spins up, all the peripherals are woken. But I have to tap the mouse a second time for the display to awaken, think it started after an OSX update, so assuming it is normal, and not a sign of a failure to come

I'm seeing the same behavior on my 2018 Mac Mini with dual displays running Monterey.

(One click wakes the Mac Mini and a second click wakes the displays)

My best guess for this new behavior, is that Apple is aware of the sleep/wake issues and is fine tuning (ie searching) for a way to keep everyone happy.

The other option is to check "Prevent your Mac from automatically sleeping" in the Energy Saver Preference and use one click to wake the display(s).
