Can I input audio from my iPhone 8 via my Macbook Air's earphone jack?

I want to load recordings I make on my iPhone onto my MacBook Air. So, if the Air's earphone port works 2 ways, all I need is a cable that interfaces with the Mac on one end and the iPhone on the other.

Possible?

No, but you can use airplay and Bluetooth.

It might be possible with the Lighting to audio adapter then a connecting cable to the input. Not sure if your MacBook Air's jack does that though, although I though that most work as an input with microphones and headsets.
