Calls on Watch (LTE) with iPhone in Airplane mode

Hi All,

I am not sure if this is a carrier issue(Vodafone India) or an OS issue.

I have de-mirrored the watch and iPhone and put the phone in Airplane mode, the even though it shows connected to network still doesn't receive calls.

Works Ok otherwise.

Watch SE LTE OS 8.3

iPhone SE OS 15.2

Thanks

Pankaj

Thanks again.

If the LTE(e-SIM) activated watch is not in Airplane mode (and able to receive to signal and connected to the carrier) then the calls should be directed to the watch directly form the carrier ( the iPhone is in airplane mode).

That doesn't happen.

I have found something similar mentioned here-

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250485465 ( reply of Branta_uk).

It may have to do with a hierarchical issue with bluetooth.

Confirming that this suggestion mentioned in another thread- works.

To receive call on Apple Watch LTE while the phone is in Airplane mode-

On the watch(e-SIM activated):

The mirror option in watch has to be off.Apple Watch app on iPhone->phone->Mirror my iPhone->custom

On the phone :

both bluetooth and airplanes mode have to be switched off along with the airplane mode.

Thanks

Airplane mode, when activated, suspends radio-frequency signal transmission by the device. Thereby, when the user activates airplane mode, they will disable Bluetooth, GPS, phone calls, and Wi-Fi.
