Help with Apple Watch 7 showing music playing on iPhone (and using watch battery)

I have the same issue as the folks below who play music on their phone but it shows up on the Apple Watch 7, as well. The battery decreases greatly. Isn't there some way to keep it from turning on in the Watch? My version does not give me the Wake Screen option.

Greetings, toooldforthis.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you would like to adjust the settings on your Apple Watch Series 7 to disable the auto-launch for audio from your iPhone, and you’re not finding the option. We can help!

The settings you’re looking for have moved to the Display & Brightness tab in Settings. You should have the toggle to disable “Auto-launch audio apps” from either your Watch app on your iPhone or the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

This worked perfectly. thank you so much. I still have a number of issues and if you would be able to help me, I'd truly appreciate that. I'm still wearing my Fitbit Charge 3 with the new Apple watch since I can't sync the the MyFitnessPal app with the Apple watch. I've worn Fitbits for years and used MFP premium for years also. thus I have my weight, calories/food & exercise in MFP . My sleep history is tracked in the Fitbit app. I really don't want to lose any of these functions but never thought I'd have to wear both the Fitbit and Apple watch. More than a little redundant. I'm not sure how or why but my AppleWatch shows steps on it that don't match the steps on my Fitbit.

Additionally, I pay for Cozi premium so my husband and daughter and I can keep track of appointments, etc. together. While I am getting the reminders, I can not see the Cozi calendar (which is my absolute goto calendar). Is there a way for Apple Watch to sync or connect to it? I use the calendar in addition to all the lists available to me.

I bought the Apple Watch partially for the Health apps, since I have some cardiac issues. Thus far, I haven't had much success with those.

I would prefer not to have any music or contacts on my watch.

Again, I will be very grateful if you're able to help me resolve some or all of these issues. I'd really just like to wear the Apple watch 7 that I purchased for these functions. Thank you!! Toooldforthis (Lori)

toooldforthis,

We were so happy to hear that you were able to get the auto-play feature setting adjusted that way that worked the best for you. We love how much easier our day has become by integrating the Apple Watch, we’re more than happy to see how we can help you get the most out of yours.

First, you mentioned wearing your Fitbit to continue with your MyFitnessPal and sleep tracking. Apple has their own version of sleep tracking in the Sleep app. Hopefully, this article will help you get acquainted with this feature:

One of our favorite features of Apple Support is the quick and easy tutorials they provide on their YouTube channel. If you’re an audio/visual learner you may like these videos:

If your steps aren’t matching between your FitBit an your Apple products, you may need to make some adjustments to the data sources in the Health app on your iPhone. If you have an iPhone, Apple Watch, your FitBit, the MyFitnessPal app that are tracking your steps, it’s possible your sources aren’t being prioritized the way you need them to be reporting. This article will help you understand how your Health app uses and prioritizes all the different ways it can record your steps:

As it relates to using MyFitnessPal and Cozi with your watch, we did some preliminary research just to confirm compatibility, but you may end up needing to reach out to them directly for the best assistance with these. MyFitnessPal does have an Apple Watch app, and it integrates with the Health app on your iPhone. We encourage you to review these articles to see if they help:

Cozi has a couple of options for viewing your calendars on your Apple Watch. Your Cozi Family Organizer app on your iPhone should automatically install the app on your Apple Watch much the same as the MyFitnessPal app, or you can set up a read-only version for your watch on the Cozi website. Check it out:

We know this is a lot of information to soak up all at once. Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks so much for your response! I've started on the Health part and believe I have the sleep part working. Unlike MyFitnessPal, it looks like it will only retain 2 weeks worth of data and does not track REM or Deep Sleep. I like that feature about the Fitbit.

As of yet, I've had not luck with the MFP app other than it looks like weight may be there. I like being able to log what I eat and see long term weights. Neither could I get Cozi to work at it. Not sure the material is up to date. I had no luck.

I'll work on these again after the holidays, just no time now. Thanks again!
