iphone 12 pro max storage

I have both my phone and icloud almost full and icloud is 200 gb and iphone is 128 gb wondering what options I have to free up space, I don’t presently have a computer but I expect to im the near future, I knowI can delete some files but i’m not sure how to tell if it’s something important or not, and I also have an apple tv 4k was wondering if it’s sharing the same icloud as my phone because it’s signed in with the same apple id, that may explain why my storage is so full but I can’t see where it’s being stored on my apple tv it shows the storage as empty and on my icloud it doesn’t show anything from my tv so i’m confused about where it all is, thanks to anyone that can help

I figured it out, I think it’s probably me messing up and getting too many 3rd party storage applications and not keeping track of where everything was, and not fully understanding how the cloud worked, plus I have a bad habit of trying to do too much without having a pc or laptop, I go overboard sometimes but thanks for the articles, I’d like to have a better understanding of everything and I tinker with things too much sometimes. It’s that I have 128 gb phone and 200 gb cloud and looking at everything I was just not keeping track of the important files and waited too long until it was a problem. Thanks for the information.
