CarPlay crashing

Ok, I bought an iPhone 13 and now CarPlay in my truck (2019 Chevrolet) keeps crashing. It has NEVER done this before, not with my iPhone SE or Xr. Now with the iPhone 13, CarPlay crashes and causes the head unit of my infotainment system to reboot. And it happens in a cycle about every 15 minutes. Idk if the guys in Cupertino are working on the problem or if anyone else has any suggestions but it’s driving me crazy that I spent $800 on a phone to have it messing up straight out of the box and messing up a $40k vehicle.

Does it seem like your vehicle's infotainment system will only reboot when you are on a phone call?

If yes, we recommend that you check if you have to install a new carrier update.

My vehicle does not support wireless CarPlay, I have tried a different lightening cable, it does the same thing in a 2019 Mazda. My iPhone13 is running on iOS 15.2 and settings states that is the most up to date iOS version. It hasn’t given me any issues with Apple Music or Amazon Prime Music, only when on a phone call.

It seems right now it only does it on a phone call, but a phone call not plugged into CarPlay does not have any issues. I’ve checked my carrier settings per the article you attached and there are currently no carrier setting updates available.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you. Have you had the chance to try your iPhone 13 with a different vehicle with CarPlay? If yes, are you experiencing a similar behavior on a different vehicle?

Are you using wireless CarPlay? If yes, are you experiencing a similar behavior if you use a Lightning cable?

In the meantime, we recommend that you make sure that you are using the latest version of iOS.
