Scribble not working after updating to watch iOS 8.3

Once again Apple has taken something simple and made it complex. With the watchOS 8.3 update, Scribble and voice to text input is "hidden" but not missing. On your watch, when you attempt to reply to a message, the Scribble screen you would usually see is now missing. With a finger slide up from the bottom of the watch screen and a Scribble activation button should appear, tap it and Scribble is restored. It looks like this needs to be done on a per message basis.

Apple, this is absurd! Please restore normal Scribble functionality!!!

I have a similar issue.

I don't have scribble enabled either, even if I select English. Since the latest update or two most recent ones I have lost the scribble feature.

I've found a fix however, or rather a work around.

On my phone I have Swedish primarily, and the emoji keyboard secondarily. My default language is English (UK) however, secondary language is Swedish. My Apple Watch Series 6 is set to be custom and not mirror my phone, yet it still mirrors my phone for whatever reason when it comes to the keyboard selection.

As long as I have an English Keyboard set on my phone as a keyboard I can use scribble, but if I only have it set on my watch as a keyboard I have the same features as if I only had the Swedish one selected.

Even when the only language I have selected on my watch is English (UK), my Swedish keyboard shows up.

Apple, please fix.

I do not want to be forced to have three keyboards on my phone when two of them are the same with 3 additional letters (ÅÄÖ), which I need to use daily.

Thank you. This has been driving me nuts for past couple of weeks. I even reset my watch hoping it would revert back. Obviously, it didn't. Have to manually go to each contact and reactivate scribble. Total nonsense

Thank you so much for your help! I can't believe I have to now do another additional step each time I want to dictate a message. This is ridiculous. Siri isn't something that I can always rely on, so this really limits me. It's an important reason I use my watch.

I have a new Apple Watch Series 7, watchOS 8.3 and I do not have scribble anymore, either.
