Connect iPhone to USB-C Docking station

An iPhone is more powerful than a regular PC, these days. Still we carry our cumbersome laptop to connect it to the USB-C docking station on our workplace.

Our applications move to the cloud, using web interfaces, so the need to use applications other than web browsers is decreasing by the day.

When can we just connect our iPhone to a standard USB-C docking station and use Safari to connect to all our web applications and use them like on a laptop?

Technically formulated: please develop an adapter from lightning to USB-C (female) to connect an iPhone full functional to a standard USB-C Docking station that’s connected to keyboard, mouse and monitor and of course the iphone needs to be powered using this connection. Using wired internet connected to the USB-C Dock is nice-to-have.

For future iPhones with USB-C connector, this feature can be built-in, so no adapter is needed.

If Apple succeeds in developing this feature, it will be a major opportunity for companies to phase out laptops for an increasing group of employees that do not need more functionality than web applications. And employees will be happy not to carry their laptop with them anymore.
