only one usb-c port charges my laptop MacBook Pro 2019

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019)

Mac OS Monterray

The last while it seems only one USB-C port (left side) will work to charge my laptop. What is up with that? Does anyone else have issues with their charger not working inother USB-C ports on their MacBook Pro?

Hi there dutchman77,

Thanks for taking the time to join us in Apple Support Communities! We understand the USB-C port on the left side of your MacBook Pro isn't working when connecting it to your charger. We're glad you're here, and we'd like to learn more to see how we can help.

To begin, if you connect a different device to the same port, does it work as expected? Did you work through all the suggested steps in the related article linked in blue at the top left corner of this page? If so, what were the results exactly?

You can also try the additional steps here to see if they help:

If a USB device doesn’t work with Mac

Send over these details, and we'll take a closer look from there.

Take care!
