Sleep function

Hi,

I don’t have a problem with any of my devices, I am hoping someone can educate me.

I fell asleep earlier listening to YouTube, I had my airpod pro’s in and my Apple Watch on.

a little while later my iPhone told me I had 51 minutes sleep and what the quality of it was, I am just wondering how my phone knew I was asleep because technically I was watching a video on YouTube so my phone was open with the app running the video.

thanks

Hello jacko1066,

After reviewing your post, it seems like you want to know how the iPhone knew you were asleep while an app was running. We would recommend you read these articles for more information. Since the Apple Watch can track your respiratory rate and heart rate, you may be able to see a change in the Health app when you were asleep and not asleep.

When you woke, was the app still running?

Do you have sleep schedule set up on the iPhone?

Do you have a Bedtime set to track your sleep on the iPhone?

Set up your first sleep schedule in Health on iPhone

Use Bedtime to track your sleep on your iPhone

Track your sleep on Apple Watch and use Sleep on iPhone
