Is this a scam?

I received a text to my phone from apple with an ID code at 2:53 am. I also received an email from: appleid@id.apple.*** at the same time asking me to verify my email. Is this legit or a scam? I never requested anything about my apple account

Scam? I got a message from an email named *** etc and something else and it send me a message taht there has been unusual sign in in my Apple count and it’s says if I did that I can ignore the message but if i didn’t to go verify in a link they sent me or my account will be deleted within 12 hours [Email Edited by Moderator]
