Itunes music on windows 10 sounds static

After trying to listen to music from itunes on windows 10 the sound is very poor, sounds scratchy /static. Ive set the playback settings of sample rate and bits to match my soundcard and still the same awful sound.

Everything else sounds great, gaming off of steam, music from other streaming sites...

Im using an external audient ID14 with yamaha hs7's. The sample rate is at 48 khz, 16 bits.

Windows, Windows 6

Thanks for keeping the thread up to speed jojobannen,

Narrowing the behavior down, and providing some additional information can increase your chances of getting a specifically helpful response from the community. When you're able to, try the following and post your results.

Re-install iTunes from the Microsoft Store with these steps: Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

Try with different types of media. What are you currently trying to play? Where was it sourced? Is it streaming, downloaded or imported from disc?

If possible, test the same media you tried in iTunes, in another player.

Test with different sound outputs, e.g. speakers, different headphones, etc.

Create a new user account on your PC, and test iTunes with media from different sources there.

We'll look forward to hearing back from you!
