Bought a new iPad (9th gen), after transferring data from my from my older iPad (6th gen) I wish to pass this older iPad to my partner. After I have transferred my data on to my new iPad, do I need to deactivate iCloud on the older one before I clear data to ‘factory setting’?
My partner has an iPadAir (1st gen 16gb). She has backed up to iCloud.
Also when an iPad is set to ‘factory setting’ I take it this will update apps and operating system?

Hi Terry yes definitely yes you should go to settings then general and reset that old iPad before give it away just select erase all settings and contents, that leave the iPad clean without any of your personal things

But should I sign out of iCloud on the old iPad before I reset it?

in that iPad you can go to Find My app and remove it from , no you don’t need to log out just remove from Fund my app then erase all settings and contents
