Hi, I want to trade in my old iphone 8plus. But how precisely does the trade in work? Do you first need to give in your old phone before they send you the new one? I cannot sit without a phone.

I purchased Iphone 13 pro and traded my 8 plus iphone which was in excellent condition & working form. I just received an email that was confusing as to whether I would be receiving $160 credit vs $0 credit. I did not understand the wordage in the email and hit accept. I received another email saying my iphone 8 plus had $0 value. It was reported as "no functioning external ports". I don't know how this was evaluated since everything was working. I called customer service and am awaiting response. Beware of trading in a functioning iphone to apple.
No. You receive the new phone, then you either trade your phone in at your Apple Store or they send a trade in kit (box) to ship the trade to them after you've set up your new phone.
