I was trying to open RAW photos and got a not supported message. can I add this in some way?

However, note that if it is supported - and that is not guaranteed - you will have to be able to run the system it is supported on, even if that is Fresno, it is not backwards compatible.

No one knows what plans Apple have for supporting individual camera models. No, you can't add raw support to the OS, only Apple can. Workaround: use a third party app that does support the camera or convert the raws to DNG with Adobe's free converter.
