Invisible notes on the notes app.

I have 17GB of notes on my iPhone’s notes app. Recently, I’ve had full storage and a declining battery life on my 6s, and after turning it on one morning I found all my notes to have vanished. The odd thing is that the phone still recognizes that I have 17GB of notes when I evaluate my storage. My iCloud option in settings is greyed out and so I haven’t backed up my notes app in about 9 months. Is there a way to obtain my notes?

Things I’ve tried: cleared out GB of storage, reset phone, turn on “on my iPhone” account, synced gmail to notes, updated to iOS15. Nothing has worked so far.

Hello WildWeasel46,

We see that you need help with Notes on your iPhone.

If you have iCloud Notes enabled, they’re stored in iCloud and are not included in a backup. So you’re notes sync when changes are made. To be sure that’s happening, are you able to see all of your Notes on iCloud.

If you can see your notes there, you may need to free up or optimize storage on your iPhone to allow them to sync. How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Cheers!
