Why won't my iPhone 7 install iOS 15.2 update?

Hi everyone. I am trying to update my iPhone 7 to iOS 15.2 but keep getting the message: "Unable to install Update. An error occurred installing iOS 15.2." I keep retrying but no luck. I've made sure the phone has enough storage space, and downloaded the update successfully, but it will not install. Has anyone else had this problem please? Is there a fix?

Thanks for any help

iPhone 7, iOS 13

Make sure that your iPhone is setup to meet the following requirements before you attempt to update the iOS version-

  • Your iPhone must have a fast Wi-Fi connection; you cannot update over cellular data or a cellular hotspot
  • The iPhone can not be in Low Power mode
  • The battery state of charge must be above 50%
  • Your iPhone must have at least 6GB or more free storage space
  • Your iPhone cannot be connected through VPN
  • You should leave the phone plugged in until it finishes updating, both to assure that it remains above 50% and to keep Wi-Fi enabled (Wi-Fi turns off when the phone sleeps if not connected to power).

I have tried all of those steps on my daughter's Iphone 7, and now her cellular service is not working (Tmobile). She updated from IOS 15 to 15.2. She gets an error message that states "Cellular Update Failed; Your iPhone cannot make and recieve calls or access cellular data until it has been updated. It appears like we need to make another apple IOS update, but nothing is available. On my Iphone 7+, it only installed up to IOS 15.1, and is working on Tmobile, and says that is the latest update for it. I assume that is what hers should be at too. What can we do? Her IOS is what told her to update. Do we need to call Tmobile?

THanks, LPeel

Each Apple device is linked/associated with an Apple ID of the person who did the setup.

To unlock this Phone, you need the Apple ID and password that were used during set up.

why get a message with that I 'first have to update it before I can login with the icoud of my grandma'

So you need your grandma login details.

If you don't have it you can't use the iPhone.

Apple can't help you.

The only way that I got my daughters iPhone 7 to work, was we did a full back up on her laptop using iTunes. Then we did a full reset on her phone, where everything was wiped out and it was clean and started from scratch. At that point she was able to do the iOS 15.2 update. Then we restored the back up onto her iPhone. That worked out well.

Why won't my iPhone 7 install iOS 15.2 update?
