Location Services

I updated to iOS 15 and since then; I have the location arrow present in the corner of my screen all the time! I have all my location services off except for “find my iPhone.” The only time the arrow goes away is when I turn the location services off. And I don’t want to cause my husband and I share our locations and I use maps lots. I’m concerned there are some apps that are using location & data when I did not approve them to do so

Also, all my apps disappeared from under my location services. They used to be all listed there and now they are gone.

Any ways to fix this?! I have an iPhone XR

Hello Jenn261991,

It sounds like you are constantly seeing the location arrow and you don't see any apps under Location Services in Settings.

Here are some resources and steps that might help.

Check to see if you have Location Services turned on for Content & Privacy Restrictions in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Location Services. Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Review "How your device uses Location Services" in About privacy and Location Services in iOS and iPadOS to see if it helps explain what you are experiencing.

Toggle Location Services by turning it off, Restart your iPhone, and turn it back on to see if it works as expected.

Jenn261991,

Thank you for the additional information and trying those steps. As multiple apps are not showing up in Settings it sounds like it is a system wide issue if you don't have any restrictions on. As you've done the troubleshooting steps you can do for Settings, at this point your next step will be to Contact Apple Support or use this Get Support link for assistance.

thanks, but none of your suggestions have helped. I had reset my location and privacy settings because my phone was always saying I was in the wrong location. Once I did that, all my apps were gone from under the location services. They used to be all listed there and I had picked which ones I wanted to use my location. (Only two I allowed to use my location were maps and Snapchat) Now none of them are listed there. When I go to my maps app; it lets me use my locates. When I go to my Snapchat app; it does not let me use my location.

When I turn my ovation services on; my phone is constantly using my location when I have no apps that are actually using my location. When all my apps are closed and my phone is unlocked on my Home Screen, the location arrow is solid meaning something is using my location.
