Hello how can I update to version IOS.12 or higher?

Before we start, go to Settings/General/About and tell us what it says for Model Name.
If your iPhone is showing iOS 12.5.5 and when you check Software Update it reports that it is up to date. Then you do not have an iPhone 6s, you have an iPhone 6, which cannot be updated higher than iOS 12.5.5. Check Settings>General>About>Model Number, tap on that until you see a number beginning with A, and check that number against this Support document to find out what model of iPhone you have. May I reply to this too? Facing a similar problem. I want to install instagram, which requires an iOS 12 or later, but there doesn't seem to be an option for any more updates on my iphone. Its model is MD660LL/A, version 10.3.4.
