As it's possible to turn off the Hidden album, try using the steps here to check and ensure it's enabled at the moment: Hide photos on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac
Regarding your Messages in iCloud feature, this page may be able to help out: Use Messages in iCloud
In addition, be sure to check that the Apple ID at Settings > [your name] matches the one that's listed in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. It should say 'Apple ID: ' at the bottom of the list here.
