When I try to call my son iPad keep saying waiting for others I use to call him through FaceTime was fine no I can’t face time and he can call

It sounds like you are trying to use an existing call link on your iPad, and that link was a group FaceTime. Try tapping on New FaceTime button and then entering his number/Apple ID to call.
