Microphone issues after latest software updates

The functionality of the microphone(s) on my iPad 6 in certain apps has gone all wonky since these latest updates, too. It’s getting extremely frustrating.

Siri works, but there’s about a 3 second delay for the microphone to begin picking up sound from the time Siri’s bubble appears. The microphone functionality in Voice Memos had been working as of two weeks ago, but now it seems to not pick up any “useful” sound. That is, ironically, when I play back the recording, I’m able to hear me flicking/tapping the screen but not any of my voice. The one funny thing about this annoying issue is that it’s like a reversed noise suppression mode has been enabled.

Recording video with the rear-facing camera works perfectly fine. As for the front-facing camera, sometimes the first 3 seconds, again, of the video have no sound but then the rest will be fine.

I’ve seen some other articles on Apple Support Discussions, but none of them has a solution. The “most helpful” reply is often the article at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210896 which is titled “If the microphone[s] on your [iPad/iPhone/iPod touch] aren't working.” I followed all the steps on the page and described my outcomes with each step of troubleshooting above.

I’d appreciate any tips or advice on this bedeviling issue. I am also curious how many others, if any, are experiencing the same, or similar, problem.
