Cannot turn off screen mirroring ios 15.2 iPhone 11

I hit the screen mirroring button by mistake and now cannot turn it off. In control center when I touch screen mirroring, it just sits there with the rotating *, doing nothing. I’ve tried restarting my phone, doesn’t work. How do I turn this off?????

Just talked to Apple. I needed to go into Settings, Focus, then turn OFF “Share Across Devices” to get myself off of screen mirroring. Had to do this on every Apple device, Mac, iPad, phone. Back to normal!

Greetings, cem10.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We can understand why you’d want to stop sharing your screen, especially since you didn’t mean to enable AirPlay.

“To stop streaming, tap AirPlay  in the app that you're streaming from, then tap your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from the list.” Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

We hope this helps! Thanks for being a part of the community.

Sincerely.

Karina,

Thank you for your response but I was not streaming anything when I put my phone on screen mirroring by mistake. In ios 15 the “do not disturb” button was moved and that’s how I hit “screen mirroring” by mistake using the Control Panel (pull down version, not in settings). I meant to out my phone on do not disturb. My phone now mirrors everything to both my iPads. That’s what I need to turn off. Hitting screen mirroring to turn it off results in the following stuck screen
