when installing Monterey, i enter the admin password and it accepts it but nothing happens further. it agains come to this screen. i have tried many times but the installation process doesn't go further.

Try booting into Safe Mode and running the installer again. It is likely you have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS. The most likely candidates are anti-virus software, cleaning apps, and third party security software none of which are needed on a Mac.

Success when using a new user account usually indicates a problem with the main user account. If Safe Mode did not work, then it is unlikely it is a Login item since those are disabled in Safe Mode. Most likely you have a settings/configuration issue with your main account, or perhaps some cloud related issue.


As long as you can actually boot the online installer for recovery mode and are able to select the "Install macOS" option, then that should also work as it bypasses all user accounts and all third party software at least until the Mac reboots for the second phase of the macOS install process.

I''m not familiar with that software, but from a quick search it is probably Ok.


What you don't want or need is anti-virus software, cleaning apps, and third party security software none of which are needed on a Mac plus these types of apps usually cause more problems than they solve because the interfere with the normal operation of macOS.
