Why is the lid on the AirPod Pro case loose?

It seems like this should not be when I pick it up it rattles. I understand that there needs to be some give but it shouldn't be so loose that it rattles when you pick it up and makes a funny noise sometimes when you open it. I would like to get another pair since I return the ones that I originally bought with the noise and the rattle in the loose lid. I wish there was a way to check them out before they purchased to see if it's something that I could live with or not. Because if the one that I had is the norm then I could not do that I would have to find another pair or model if you will.
