AppleCare+ for pre-ordered Macbook

It is going to take more than 60 days for me to receive the macbook, which was ordered without AppleCare+. Does this mean I won't be able to order AppleCare+ once it is delivered, because 60 days from the purchase date have passed?

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

You can get Apple Care+ without having the device in hand as long as you have the serial number for it. Link-> Get Apple Care Online - Apple Support

Link-> AppleCare Products - Mac - Apple

Beyond that, why is it going to take 60 days to get the Mac?
