Accidentally Deleted Artist, Trying To Restore. Not Working..

I accidentally deleted an entire artist from Apple Music when I meant to only delete an album…. I’ve restored all the files from a Backblaze backup but the artist is still not showing up and I’m at a loss.

In Music settings under Files I have my media files set to:

/Media 8T/user/Media/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media

I’ve replaced the music library with a copy of the music library from yesterday when the artist was still there:

User->Music-> Music Library.musiclibrary

I’ve replaced these files to yesterday’s versions as well:

/Media 8T/user/Media/Music/iTunes

iTunes Library Extras.itdb

iTunes Library Genius.itdb

iTunes Library.itl

iTunes Library.xml

iTunes Music Library.xml

I redownloaded all the folders of the albums that were my own files to:

/Media 8T/user/Media/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/The Band I Deleted

I redownloaded all the folders of the albums that were Apple Music files to:

/Media 8T/user/Media/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Apple Music/The Band I Deleted

However, when I re-open music, the band is still not there. What am I missing?

All that does is add the track back into the music library which won't really work for me... the problem is the band, The Rolling Stones, is one of the worst ones I could have deleted... I have so many of their albums in different versions (mono, stereo, etc) and bootlegs and a mixture of stuff on Apple Music vs my own Rips. I could just add them back but that won't restore all the ratings and playlists they were in.

I'm trying to figure out what is missing... if I restore the entire iTunes folder and the music library from all the files from "yesterday" when the band was still in the library, why isn't Apple Music opening up and showing everything the way it was "yesterday" before I accidentally deleted them? I must be missing an important file/folder somewhere but I can't figure out where.

THANK YOU!!! I was just about to start the annoying process of re-adding all the Stones stuff and your message came in right as I sat down to do it... that worked!

I was wondering if the problem was it was loading another library file but didn't know about the "option" option... but here is the weird thing... When I was replacing the library file:

User->Music-> Music Library.musiclibrary

with the library file from yesterday, and then starting Music normally, the replaced file here (i.e with yesterday's "date modified" date") :

User->Music-> Music Library.musiclibrary

would then have the "date modified" updated to today... so it seemed to me like that was the correct file but the Stones weren't there. With the "option-start" doing the same thing, they were. Weird.

Thanks so much!
