Why Find My shows my email address when I share my location?
im not sure why find my iphone is displaying my email address to those i share my location with.

From your description I understand that you are asking why your friends are seeing on their iPhones your ID as an email address and not your name.
I've seen this happen when your friends do not have the email you use for your Apple ID - and which you use for your Messages App - in their contact card for you. If they add the email address to your entry in their Contacts it should then represent you by your name in their Find My app.
