".psf convert to jpg: I have photos that, for reasons I do not remember, were saved in a .psf format years ago on a PC. My MacBook won't open them, and Photoshop Elements does not recognize the file. How can I convert these to jpeg files? Assume little to no knowledge in your responses. Thank you!!"

Use a Duplicate File:
See what happens when you modify the extension. To do so safely, you'd duplicate the file then modify it extension.
First: Duplicate the File:
First, make a duplicate so that the original file is not lost. To do so:
- Right-Click on the icon
- Duplicate
Then: Rename It:
- Right Click: the duplicate psj file (file name ends in "copy")
- Select: Rename
- Change: the extension to jpg
- Click: Use .jpg button
