How can I set restrictions on installing apps and in-app purchases

In previous versions of iOS I could turn off app installing/deleting, in-app purchases, and web access on my own iPad so that I'd feel safe handing the darn thing to my kid to play with. Is there no way to do that anymore? I cannot find simple, basic restrictions settings.

Sound alike you should try out ‘guided access’ mode. It allows you to choose which buttons work, if touch works and lock it in a certain app etc... I use it with my kids all the time.

Just go to the settings menu, swipe down to reveal the search bar, type guided access and it’s pretty straight forward from there.

To set or come out of chided access it’s a triple click on the home button if you have one, if not then triple click the sleep wake button.
