"Verify your email address".... but it wasn't me trying to use appleid....

12/22/21 @3:08am received the email to verify my email address which states

"A request to rest your password or unlock your account was made for your Apple ID. TO continue with this request, enter the code below on the verification page: "

two friends have received same email past two days... as I was not inquiring to reset anything, someone else was and two-factor authentication is working. At least it seems so.

Is there anything else I (we) should do?

Nothing anywhere from Apple regarding this recent issue so.....
