iPods have no recurring charge in and of themselves. Subscriptions are tied to Apple IDs, not specific devices.
If you are using Family Sharing with your grand son, and he subscribed to Apple Music on his iPod, then the subscription will be on his Apple ID account and would need to be cancelled from there by following the steps in the support document you posted from.
Otherwise, following the same steps from your account would show you all subscriptions on your Apple ID and you can cancel them there.
