Cursor jumps to lower left corner while playing 4k HDR YouTube in Safari/Chrome

Cursor jumps to the lower left corner and gets stuck there for a few seconds (system stops responding).

Bug occurs every time HDR content is displayed on the screen (e.g.: Starting to view an HDR video on YouTube by clicking on a video link, Leaving a website while viewing an HDR video, Scrolling down and moving the video player out of view while viewing HDR content and vice versa).

Reproduced in Safari (Version 15.2 (17612.3.6.1.6)) & Chrome (Version 96.0.4664.110 (Offizieller Build) (arm64))

I'm running Monterey 12.1, thinking the bug appeared after updating from 12.0.1 (firmware included) to 12.1.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

After countless hours, I just found the reason for the bug....

System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Zoom -> Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom: Zoom style: Split screen or Picture-in-picture

Change the "Zoom style" to Full screen and the bug is gone!
