My phone is saying it is not activated.

My phone has been saying that it has no service for a while. i went to my phone company's store (Metro) & they told me to reset my phone. When i did it doesnt let me past the set up part it says "your phone is not activated please update" We have tried to take the sim card out and put it back in nothing works i tried to connect it to the computer it still did not work.
