Child’s device not showing up on my list of devices

Recently purchased an Apple watch for my child. It’s signed into the child’s Apple ID, is up to date, but while it is showing up in Find my Phone app, it’s not listed under my list of devices. Any idea why? I want to set up different screen time limits for the child’s existing iPad and new watch, but can’t as the watch is not in the list of devices


i read in the support discussions that removing the child from the family, then adding back, can fix this issue, but as child is under 13 years, this is not an option .

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you're having some issues with finding your child's device in your device list, and we'd like to help. From here, make sure both devices are updated: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If both are updated, try and restart both devices and let us know if that helps: Restart your Apple Watch and Restart your iPhone
